Day 4 - After Ops
It's Day 4 after my ops.
My eyes are recovering well, but I seriously feel that the harmful rays emitting out from the CRT monitor could hurt my eyes.
Basically, I've been wearing my sunglasses once I'm outta my house.
I'm wearing them on as I'm bloggin' this entry in office. Hehs.

My LASIK Experience
Day 1: 9th Apr, Thurs
Official company day off; went for scheduled Pre-Lasik assessment at 10am @ Shinagawa LASIK Centre, located at Wheelock place. Procedures included examining the eyes power (level of degree) via the 'Alphabets' Light-up Board, takin' pictures of the eyes in 25 angles, diluting the eyes for cornea thickness examination, takin' eye pressure, checking if eyes are healthy, seeing video on 'Intralase Bladeless LASIK' and consultation with the doc. All these took 2 hours, and I scheduled OPS appointment to be on 11th Apr, Sat @ 2pm.
Day 2: 10th Apr, Fri
Went baby's house in the evening.
Tucked in early for the night in preparation of the ops the day after.
OPS DAY: 11th Apr, Sat
Paid 2.6k for the ops prior, and was given an 'agreement' form that I fully understand the possible risks and side effects of the ops. Signed, and proceeded to the ops room 10 minutes later.
- Took off sandals, put on their sandals
- Nurse put a gown on me, asked me to sit down while she applied numbing drops and cleansed the eyes; nurse told me to keep my eyes closed until the doc is here to 'avoid drying of the eye area'
- Eyes were sticky when i re-opened them, doc gave a final check on the eyes
Room 1: Flap Creation
I was asked to lie down and thereafter open my eyes, a rounded thingy is inserted INTO my right eye (first). A machine was aligned to my right eye, and I was asked to close my eye. All I could feel was pressure on my eye ball, for 27 secs. And it felt like someone's sucking your eyeball out. Euuwee. The pressure on my right eye ball was a tad more strong, too strong for me to handle. And to be frank, at that point in time I thought I might go blind.
But yeah, the nurse counted down to 27 secs for each eye and that gave me a gadge on how much longer to hang on before the flap's done. When both eyes' cornea flaps are done, I was tearing alot. No pain at all, just pressure.
The doc said to me that this flap creation is the MOST IMPORTANT part of LASIK.
Fear factor: 8/10
Room 2: Laser Correction
After the flap creation was done, I was given tons of drips of eye drops and closed my eyes. 10 mintutes later, the nurse walked me to another room where lasering will be used to correct my myopia. When I opened my eyes, my vision was in triples. Meaning, I'd see 1 same person at my left, centre, right area of vision and that's normal because of the flap. It's something like 万花筒, imaginize. :)
Now lasering was a breeze. Again, more numbing drops before the lasering began. Lied down, laser machine was aligned on top of my vision. Lasering begins; all you gotta do was to focus on the green light, followed by the red light throughout the procedure. Lasering takes about less than 10 secs, and you can smell a burning smell. Painless, pressure-less.
Fear factor: 2/10
Right after the procedure, I was taken to a quiet cosy lil' place where I was asked to lie down to rest for 1/2 an hr and sip hot green tea. At that time, I could see quite clearly already. As though I had my lenses on, but vision wasn't exactly clear.
Hazy vision.
Put my sunglasses on and headed home around 4pm, instilled antibiotic + 1 other eye drop + 1 naturel eye drop hourly.
Popped a sleepin' pill at 9pm and slept through the night.
Day 1 AFT OPS: 12th Apr, Sun
Woke up at 7am and met baby at 8am for my Day-1 Review @ Shinagawa at 9am.
Vision was clearer than yesterday. :)
Nurse checked my eyes using the 'Alphabets' light-up board and to my lovely surprise, my vision's 6/6!

I'm very satisfied with the VIP treatment I had with Shinagawa, and that the doc and nurses were very professional. A very pleasant experience and money well-spent!
Okay, baby's nagging about me using the lappy just 1 day after the ops.
I LOVE MY 'NEW' pair of EYES! :D

Geek, for the week~
I've been off contacts for 3 days already.!
Colleagues are already speculating I'm infected with eye virus or some sort of eye infection.
duhh.
Hushhush, I'm keepin' mum about the actual reason behind the geek look.
But I guess if you do read my blog, you're one of my closer friends so here's it.
I'm going for a Pre-Lasik Assessment tomorrow morning to check my eyes and the surgeon will determine if I'm suitable for Lasik.
And prior to the assessment, I have to be off contacts for at least 3 days.
That explains it, people.
I'm not down with some kind of eye infection! CHOY, okay. :x
Been sayin' I wanna lasik for eons, but it's always talkin' and no actions.
I hate spectacles and wearing lenses for >12hrs everyday are wearing my eyes out, especially so when I have to be in front of a CRT Monitor for work. Sheez.
People with perfect eyesight will never understand my misery. :(
And horrays, to the first off-day ever - tomorrow!
it's a long weekend! HOW NICE.

Some colleagues offered Pulau Hitam Ice Cream from Ice Creamery to us yesterday, and damn it was gooooood. I'm a Or-Bi-Ber lover, so that ice cream works for me! Sharon colleague mentioned about goin' over to purchase the ice cream after work yesterday, and I rode on her order. :D 1 tub for 9 bucks. Totally worth it.
Gimme anything sweet, I'll fall for it.
I just stuffed 5 donuts last weekend. Hoohoo, i'm such a glutton. Hehs.
